Each entry must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Nominations can be for any individual, project, initiative, study, etc. having made a significant contribution to the European rail sector in any of the following areas: transport policy, sustainability, competitiveness and innovation, cross-border/cross-mode collaboration or social responsibility
- The person/project/initiative/study must be based in Europe and be nominated for a relevant achievement demonstrating innovative thought leadership, inspiring political action or pioneering technological advances
- Nominations must include a clear description of the achievement that the person/project/initiative/study is being nominated for and be accompanied by a proper set of supporting documents (e.g. resume, articles, photos, presentations, videos, etc.)

All data submitted through this form may be shared by CER or UNIFE with the members of the jury. Description texts, photo and video materials submitted in support of the winning nomination may be disseminated by CER and UNIFE both on screen during the European Railway Award ceremony as well as later in CER or UNIFE communications such as, in particular, newsletters, press releases, and social media communications. Such processing of data submitted in support of the winning nomination will be performed solely for the purpose of promoting the European Railway Award.
